Jonah 4:2
And he
(Jonah the prophet was angry that the Ninevites turned from their evil ways
and were no longer in danger of punishment) prayed unto the LORD, and
said, I pray [beg] thee, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was
yet in my country? Therefore I fled [ran away] before unto Tarshish:
for I knew that thou art [You are] a gracious God, and merciful, slow
to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest [to be sorry; have pity]
thee of the evil.
King James Version
