Christ [Anointed One] redeemed
[paid to recover] us from the
curse of the law [customs,
commands] by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is
everyone who is hung on a tree
[wood].” {14} He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to
Abraham [founder of the Hebrew nation] might come to the Gentiles
[non-Hebrews] through Christ
Jesus, so that by faith [belief]
we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

_________________________________________
One way that we have been crucified with
Christ is by relationship: we
have become one with Christ, and His experiences are ours.
Our Christian life began when, in unity with Him, we died to our
old life. In our daily life, we
must regularly crucify sinful desires that keep us from following
Christ. This, too, is a kind of
dying with Him.
